England and Wales Cricket Board is to delay naming their one day international squad to play against Bangladesh in an effort to purchase more time for captain Eoin Morgan to make the tour. The English selectors were supposed to pick up the final names in the next week after the last T20 match against Pakistan on Tuesday. But now they are going to delay the process for around a week.
Sources have revealed that captain Eoin Morgan has already denied to make the tour but the board officials are hopeful of convincing him in one on one conversation.
Several other main stream English cricketers seem to be in severe doubt, according to the premier England daily, the Telegraph. According to them, Alastair Cook is also amidst swinging mental frame about the tour, although he has told ECB about his availability in the tour.
Jos Buttler has already raised questions and both Liam Plunkett and Alex Hales admitted it was a tough decision to make. The selectors have a plan to rest some of the cricketers for the ODI series against Bangladesh who had previously appeared in all formats of the game.
But many things depend upon captain Eoin Morgan as team selectors are waiting for his response in this regard. Although it is highly unlikely that the family members of the cricketers will accompany them in Bangladesh tour, ECB has briefed all of them in a session arranged on Saturday.
