Anti-militancy not possible without Democracy: Moudud
Staff Correspondence:Bangladesh Nationalist Party-BNP standing committee member Barrister Maudud Ahmed said, terrorism and militancy could not be tackled without democracy.
He said this while addressing a seminar and free medical camp organized by Doctors’ Association of Bangladesh (DAB) today noon on the occasion of the 38th founding anniversary of the BNP and jail-relief day of BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and Vice Chairman Tareque Rahman.
Moudud warned that as the opposition parties failed to exercise the freedom of expressions, dishonest quarters and opportunists might take the chance to mislead the young generation.
He urged the government to protect people’s right to speak for building up national unity and foiling terrorism and militancy.
Vice chairman of BNP and president of DAB, Dr. A. Z. M. Zahid, presided over the program while BNP Chairperson’ advisor Sirajul Islam and party’s assistant health secretary Dr. Rofiqul Islam addressed.
