Stay watchful against war criminal’s kiddies:Law Minister
Law Minister Anisul Huq on Thursday requested to all to stay alert against the children of war criminals as they are shaping conspiracies.
The minister made up the call while addressing at a meeting arranged by Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee at WVA auditorium in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi this afternoon.
“The children of war criminals are not innocent. They are hatching conspiracies and will keep it up. We have to remember that and stay alert against them,” Anisul Huq said.
“We have to continue our battle against their conspiracies,” he also said, adding that the trial will go on.
Regarding the growing demand for confiscating the properties of war criminals, the minister said the government is blundering over formulating a new law to deal with the issue.
The government is analysing how to use the seized properties of war criminals and also to utilise those for the benefit of freedom fighters’ families and common people, he said.
The law minister also said that the opinions of common people will be given priority about relocation of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT).
The Supreme Court on August 24 sent a letter to the law ministry asking it to relocate the tribunal from its old High Court building and to hand over its possession by October 31.Freedom fighters, war crimes trial campaigners and victims’ family members on August 27 demanded the SC to withdraw the letter.
