11 killed in Brahmanbaria, Tangail road crashes
At least eleven people were killed in separate road accidents in Brahmanbaria and Tangail districts today.
Four people were killed and 20 others injured at Kalihatiupazilain Tangail as a bus skidded off the road at Kalihatiupazilaearly today, reports our correspondent.
The deceasedMominur Rahman, 35, Ripon Miah, 30, Asma Begum, 30, and Ahsan Habib, 12, were residents of Hatibandha and Patgram upazilain Lalmonirhat district.
The bus skidded off the Dhaka-Tangail highway at Poule area as its driver lost control over the steering around 4:30am, our local correspondent reports quoting Sergeant Jahangir Alam, in-charge of Elenga Highway Police Outpost.
Four passengers of the bus died on the spot and 20 others injured, Sergeant Jahangir said.
Locals of the district rushed to the spot and took the injured people to the Tangail Medical College Hospital.
Some garments workers were aboard the bus that was heading for Gazipur from Lalmonirhat.
In Brahmanbaria, seven people were killed as a bus hit a microbus at Bijoynagar on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in the morning.
