The bodies of two siblings were recovered on Friday morning who went missing following a trawler capsizes in the Meghna River atMoulvirHat inHizlaupazilaof Barisal district on Thursday night.

The deceased were identified as Sumaiya, 12, and Rajin, 13, children of Liton Sarder, a resident of Khagerchar area of the Upazila, UNB reports.

Locals said the trawler carrying nine members of a family capsized in the river after being hit by another trawler around 9pm on Thursday night.

All but the two siblings managed to swim ashore.

After a rampant drive, police recovered the body of Sumaiya around 11.15 am from near the accident spot. Later, the body of Rajin was rescued around 12 pm, said Md Masuduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Hijla Police Station.
