Kashmir Battle: Militants’ open fire at army camp kills 3
Staff Correspondent: Three militants were killed early Thursday when army overcame an attack on the battalion headquarters of 30 Rashtriya Rifles in North Kashmir’s Langate area in Kashmir.
Indian Army said that militants opened fire on the sentry posts of the RR camp in Langate at two places. The militants then tried to flee, however, army and Special Operation Group of Police chased them and engaged in an encounter. The search operation is still going on. “Three militants have been killed and three AK rifles were seized from the militants,’’ quoting Indian defense spokesman,The Indian Express reports.
This is the second time in last five days when militants tried to sneak into a RR camp. On Sunday, militants had tried to enter into the battalion headquarters of 46 RR in Baramulla.
The army said the militants who were killed on Thursday were wearing combat dress.
Meanwhile, the army also alleged that three infiltration bids assisted by Pakistani posts were foiled during the intervening night of October 5-6.
