Wondrous uses of baking soda
Onlilne Desk: Baking soda or Bicarbonate soda is a common element of kitchen. But many of us do not know that soda can be used for so many things in daily practice. There are so many wondrous uses of baking soda. Here some inspirational best uses are given for you:
1. Hair clarifier & Dry shampoo alternative
Sprinkle a quarter-size amount of baking soda into a dollop of your regular shampoo. Wash and rinse as usual. Your hair will be shinier and more manageable when you’re done. Apply few pinches of baking soda
onto your roots, gently massage your scalp and then run a brush through your hair. This will work as an alternative of dry shampoo and rermove the greeze from your scalp.
2. Tan remover & Body exfoliator
Take one part water to three parts baking soda, gently scrub it onto your body. It will help you to fade away sun tan as well work as body exfoliator.
4. Nail scrub & Footbath
Using a baking soda scrub into your footbath will exfoliate and smooth your skin. You also can use it to do a nail scrub. Dip a nail brush into a paste of three parts baking soda to one part water, run in a circular motion over your hands and fingers, and rinse clean with warm water. Then apply nail polish as usual.
5. Tooth whitener
For whiter teeth simply sprinkle baking soda into your palm, dip a damp toothbrush into it, and brush your teeth for about a minute.
Note: you shouldn’t use baking soda as a replacement for toothpaste. Toothpaste contains fluoride, which is important for preventing cavities.
6. Use as a cleaner
Baking soda can use as a floor cleaner, kitchen cleaner, to clean the dishwasher, to put out grease, to clean cloths and so many. To brighten a dull floor finish, dissolve ½ cup baking soda in a bucket of warm water. Mop and rinse for a shiny floor.
7. For instant relief from bug bites, sunburn and poison ivy, mix baking soda with a little water and apply it directly to the sore.
Pour in 1 cup baking soda followed by 1 cup hot vinegar to quickly unclog the kitchen drain.
8. Fight dandruff by tabling the shampoo for a few weeks and massaging your wet scalp with a handful of baking soda instead.
9. To deodorize a drain, pour about ½ cup baking soda down the drain, followed by ½ cup vinegar. After 15 minutes, pour in boiling water to clean residue.
NOTE: Use this method only if your pipes are metal. And never mix with other cleaning solutions. Don’t try this if you’ve recently used a commercial drain product.
