Husband slaughters wife in Jessore
Jessore Correspondent: A newly married woman was slaughtered allegedly by her husband and in-laws at Jangalbandhal village in Sadar upazila of Jessore district on Sunday evening.
The deceased was identified as Mamtaz Begum, 20, wife of Sujan of the village.
Sub-inspector Jafor Ahmmed, in-charge of Basundia police camp, said Mamtaz, daughter of Abdul Majid, a resident of Tarabari village in Chowgachha upazila, was married to Sujan, son of Tokai Milon of the village only seven days ago, reports UNB.
Locals spotted her slaughtered body in the house around 7pm and later, they informed police.
Later, police rescued the body and sent it to Jessore 250-bed General Hospital.
However, the details about the murder could not be come to light to the media as Sujan along with his other family members went into hiding after the incident.
Ilias Hossain, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station said, a unnatural death case was recorded in this connection.
