‘Remain alert to protect the sovereignty’
Staff Correspondent: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today asked the members of Bangladesh Army to remain alert as “constant vigil” to face any “internal and external threats” for safeguarding the country’s constitution and sovereignty.
“You will have to always get ready to face any ‘internal or external threats’ unitedly for keeping safe the sacred constitution and sovereignty of the motherland,” she said.
The prime minister was addressing the flag-raising ceremony of the newly-established Headquarter 11 Infantry Brigade along with eight new units under 17 Infantry Division of the Bangladesh Army at Jalalabad Cantonment here this afternoon.
Mentioning Bangladesh Army as an “asset” of the country and a “symbol” of the confidence and the trust of the people, the PM also asked its members to be more “professionally expert ” and “welfare-minded” with social and religious values.
“Bangladesh Army is our asset and a symbol of confidence and trust of the people…so, you will have to be more professionally-skilled and welfare-minded consisting of social and religious values,” she said.
